I have totally lost the plot SW wise.
    There seems so little point.

I'm sorry about the GKs presents milann. ☹️  I think there's a few of us that still have presents waiting until we are in better times and can exchange them then.  As SG2 writes, lovely long visit on the cards then.

Definitely a long visit as soon as we can. I’d have had them sent straight there had I have known it was all going to be cancelled last minute. Ah well, no good getting upset about it.
Littlest  gdd went into nursery for the first time since the beginning of December on Tuesday. They’d been told to isolate beginning of December for the 2 nd time as a child had tested positive. Dd sent her in so she could get some work done. They had a  message  telling them to isolate as another child had tested positive Tuesday evening  - so that’ll be the 3 rd time. I can’t understand how they say little ones don’t get it 🤔
I went shopping today with dh. It’s the first proper big shop I’ve done for months...dh has been getting bits as we needed them and I’d run the cupboards down before we had the work done. I was really surprised how many people were out and how busy the roads were. We shouldn’t need anything for a while now except fresh stuff. I did forget to get soap though so will need to get some fairy soon.
Another good SW day. I’m going to try doing a zoom meeting on Saturday. I know what you mean though Beanie when you say there doesn’t seem much point. The thing that’s spurred me on is my GP wants blood pressure readings again. I’ve been on the edge of needing meds for years and I really don’t want to go on them. I know when my weight goes down so do my BP readings.

What you’ve got to think is this is probably the last lockdown 🙏🤞 We’ve got a several weeks to get back on it, lose that weight, get fit, whatever, ready to face the post-COVID world. Good luck with it anyway.

I think they’ve said this new strain is affecting younger ones so might explain the nursery children getting it.

I’ve also been surprised how busy the roads are this time. The first lockdown the roads were empty.

It’s not all about losing weight it’s its your health and just feeling better in yourself my hubby had sky high blood pressure for years was on loads of tablets I read somewhere and I can’t remember where think it was the daily paper that a small tumbler of tomato juice every day can reduce your blood pressure he is off all his tablets and his blood pressure is normal the doctor seems to think this is just a coincidence that it came down when he started drinking this maybe it is I don’t know but after 20 years he has been spot on for nearly 2 years I just buy the cartons out of Lidl but keep going with the SW it will be worth it in the long run

    Thanks all.
Izzy that is interesting about the tomato juice. I eat a lot of actual tomatoes but can’t stomach tomato juice as a drink. I think it’s because it’s quite thick and reminds me of some of the drinks I’ve had to have when I’ve been in hospital. I’ve gagged to get them down 😱
I watched a Michael Mosley programme about eating 60g of oats a day to bring it down too. I did that for a while and it helped, but it coincided with me doing SW so I’m not sure where the good results came from. I got to the stage where I never wanted to see a bowl of porridge again🤢 I have a bowl every now and then and enjoy it again now. I found drinking decaf tea and coffee made a big difference....and a difference to hot flushes. I’ve taken a couple of readings over the last few days and I’ve been quite pleased. It’s still above average so technically high but quite good for me.I’ll carry on taking them for another few days and sent them to GP.....hopefully I can put the meds off for a bit longer.
I’d asked the GP for a paper sick note as I can’t resend the electronic ones they send out they’ve encrypted them, and I can’t print from my phone 😡😡😡😡 so they’ve sent another electronic one.......I’ve had to get onto them again for a paper one today 🙄they’re posting one out. Anyway the sick note is until the end of February. Work won’t be impressed but it is what it is.
We’re having a treat of steak and actifry chips tonight. There was an awful lot of steak on offer yesterday. We got 2 lovely (hopefully) pieces of rump for £5. I presume it’s what they’d have been selling to restaurants. A bit extravagant but still cheaper than going out for steak and chips 👍
Youngest gdd is poorly. She was sick yesterday but you’d never have known last night when we’d had a virtual call....she was running around very giddy. But dd has sent a photo this morning- she fast asleep snuggled on the settee. Hopeful it’ll just be a tummy bug. I think dd will get her tested once she picks up enough to take out. I’ve just looked up how symptoms present in children and there was no mention of sickness - just the cough and temperature - fingers crossed. I actually thought I’d seen something about sickness but couldn’t swear to it.
