RETIRED: MAY 2021!!!!😀🎆
My diary: “Seasidegal's Scrimpy Retirement Diary!”2 -
I emptied some of the cupboards yesterday - mainly the top shelves which home dishes and things that only come out when we have a gathering of the clans. I sorted my medicine/first aid box out and got rid of some things which had very dubious sell by dates. Duly dropped off at a chemist for disposal - one I wasn’t known at 😂😂 So far the pots haven’t taken up much room in the spare bedroom. Dd had better not decide to come and visit as they’ll be no room to put z beds out 😳 if I sort a cupboard a day it’ll be a help and then just finish off when we know exactly when he’s coming.
I went to aqua aerobics last night - I was disappointed as I found it very hard going even with baby dumbbells- I could do the exercises where you pressed dumbbell down straight but not anything with an outstretched arm. So I gave up and did the exercises without any extra weight to my arm.....maybe I’ll have to do that for a while, or just stick to swimming. I had booked a swim this morning but cancelled as I want to paint the decking and ramp and a swim coupled with last nights aqua will give me agro for sure.So I got up early and full of enthusiasm to paint the decking I’ve been cleaning and stripping these last days - the sun was shining and the pavements dry......I opened the doors and the decking is sopping wet 😡 so I’ve brushed all the excess water off and the sun has just begun to shine on this part of the garden - fingers crossed it’ll be dry enough in an hour or so. Today looks like the only dry day forecast before I go back to work and it at least need a coat of paint to protect it over winter......that’s a scary thought.................WINTER ❄️💨☔️🌪❄️ I’m not ready to even think about that word yet 🙈🙉🙊January spends - £587.582 -
Milann you are full of energy at the minute, swimming , clearing out, painting decking , losing weight all good things. The kitchen plan sounds great and am sure you will go on that cruise one day. Have a good day and hope the decking gets done .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3

Well the decking has had 2 coats 😀 if it lasts as long as the paint on my hands - it should be good stuff. I’ve scrubbed, soaked and put copious amounts of turps ( which it shouldn’t need as apparently it’s water based) on my hands and I can’t get the grey paint off 😳 I keep putting hand cream on and little by little it’s softening. Dh cooked dinner - we had our main meal earlier than usual so that we could go out for a walk this afternoon in the nice weather. We drove about 20 minutes away to a canal verging on countryside and walked along the canal to the local small town attempted to get an ice cream - no chance - someone’s missing a business opportunity there. It was going to be my reward for bending over painting all morning. Anyway it did me good in the long term. So far the decking has dried nicely - even if it rains overnight it’s should be dry enough to stay put now. My aim is to paint it every year from now on, before it starts peeling as it was a job and a half getting the flakey paint out of the decking grooves. We will see what happens with that one.....it’s at least 4 years since it was last painted.
We didn’t walk that far as my get up and go has definitely gone I’ve only done 7k steps all day. My arm was aching and my hip not good at all....but I have no intention of sitting on my behind and doing nothing although I will have a couple of restful days whilst dh is off.
When I’m in on my own - if I’m not busy I keep nipping to the fridge or chocolate cupboard so that has been my motivation to keep busy. I’ll be glad to get back to work for a rest 😂
I had a message from the SW lady saying groups are restarting in September but with limited numbers. You need to book a space so I’ve booked an early Saturday morning slot. I miss the banter that happens there. I’m quite surprised they’re allowed as we are on a partial lockdown. There doesn’t seem rhyme nor reason to what you can and can’t do. Anywhere with a till seems ok but you can’t have family or friends in your garden 🤔😳😡

Have to agree about your energy! You don't stop. Perhaps keep on with the aqua aerobics without the dumbbells and try and build it up as you said. You'll be glad to get back to the SW meetings. Agree with you though about your restricted lockdown. The rules appear quite daft. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I’ve been quite pleased what I’ve achieved this summer. We’ve sorted the sheds and put new shelving inside and painted the outside. Put new fences all around the garden (except small bit next door is doing for us) and painted them. Painted the decking and ramp. Organised the builder to do alterations inside and level uneven ground for seating area in the garden. It’s all been done as MSE as possible too😀 It’s taken me much longer than it would usually as I’ve paced myself but I’ve done it 👍 Next task to get ready for the builder 😱😱 I want some empty lettuce boxes to put things in upstairs - Morrison’s used to have them so you could help yourself but they’ve rearranged everything so I’m not sure where I’ll get them from. Might nip into town and search the supermarkets for some....then we can carry on packing up.
I still can’t get the grey paint off my hands - there’s less but my nails are wrecked - it reminded me why it’s a waste me paying to have them done 😂😂 I suppose I should have wore gloves but I don’t like them 🙄January spends - £587.583 -

Went into town and had a walk around with dh. It was busier than last time I was there but it’s a market day so should be. The market is nothing like the old market that used to have the indoor part which is an historic building they call the glass umbrella and is still in use - it used to sprawl to surrounding streets too which it no longer does. It has had a revamp in recent years and is virtually all artisan food outlets with just a few of the older stalls. It was nice to potter though even though I didn’t buy anything - I’m reluctant to bring anything into the house as I know how pushed we will be for space once the building starts.
We popped into Mr T and picked up 4 lettuce boxes- we will need many more. Wish we were closer to you Beanie 👍
Other than a potter around town I’ve had a lazy day pootling on here and watching tv. The rain keeps coming down in torrents then the sun comes out briefly before the heavens open again. We got a tad wet earlier.£3 spent in Mr T on fruit whilst picking boxes up.January spends - £587.582
