I had a car stolen once, i had to park in the next street so never knew it had gone until the Monday morning, i'd parked up on the Friday. When i called the Police they said it had been found on the Friday night, a write-off, it had been set on fire, Nobody had come to my house to let me know all over the weekend, But they said to me if i didn't move it,they would and charge me.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

With AutoAid you can just call whoever you want to get you out of the ditch and send AutoAid the bill; thats what I did and they paid. Fortunately in my case there was no damage to the car. Tow out of the ditch was about £70; it would be extra if they have to take your car somewhere.
Ref "However, if the car isn't drivable, getting it onto my drive will be difficult/impossible."
Can't you just push it onto your drive with the help of the recovery man?0 -
No the AA won't rescue you if it's an accident, only a breakdown. .
That's why I'm not with the AA!0 -
A local farmer might help for a few quid.0

Remember with insurance accidents an claims are separate notifications.0

Some shrubs and small trees have been driven over. That's it as far as I could tell. I'm pretty sure these are natural and wouldn't have been planted. I don't believe this damage would require me contacting the police, but of course others may disagree.
I doubt that these shrubs would have caused much damage, but let's not forget that if it is a drainage ditch you could be blocking it.0 -

I don't understand what you mean here. Surely, a claim is what matters, whether it's for an accident, damage or anything else.0 -
True. But you also need to notify accidents that you haven't claimed for.
As I understand it, you don't.
What's the definition of an accident? If you take off your wing mirror reversing past your gate post, that could be termed an accident, but you don't have to inform your insurance company about it.0 -

(Most wouldn't!!)
Your policy ts + cs will require you to inform them of any losses/incidents you are involved in.0
