My current account debit card is due to expire 06/16. However im going to be on holiday for a few week in June, and didnt want the bank sending me my new card while im away, and finding my old one that im taking with me stops working.
How early does the new card arrive before the old one expires, and is it possible to request one early?
Cheers

You can report your card as damaged and they'll send you out a new one.0

You can request a replacement card anytime you like.
When a replacement card is issued your old one will remain active for 28 days.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Usually a replacement card will have a new expiry date.
However I requested a new Tesco Bank credit card recently and it was the same expiry date from when I first had my card (nearly three years ago).
So it may vary by lender but I'd imagine as it's a debit card it won't matter. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
It's very unlikely but there could be a charge for a "lost" or "damaged" card.
I have only come across this for prepayment cards and for people who have requested replacement cards more than once.0 -
The majority of cards are valid for 3 years so if you got the card in May, the expiry would change to 05.0
