EON Leaving Charge
Options
I was a eon customer on tariff v15 with a cost of £5 leaving charge if i left before my time was up.So i used a collective switch that came out cheaper than the tariff i was on guess what it was with eon so i switched tariff .Guess what now to leave or switch the cost is now £30 if i switch before my tariff end .So why the large jump from £5 to £30 is this just another way they can get more and more money from us.:T
Nice to save.

Yes.
It is designed to stop people switching tariff to another company for a few pound per annum saving. You will not be charged if you are swapping between Eon tariffs though.0 -
It is a contract term so very much 'accept it or move on'. If you stay the fixed term (or at least 365 - 49 days of it) then your contract will cost you no more. FWiW, E.oN isn't the cheapest supplier at the moment. For gas, look at Zog: their Saturn 12 tariff has no exit fee. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. ETCs seem to have gone full circle.A few years ago, it was common to have a charge of £25 or £30 per fuel on fixes. Some fixes were then introduced with no charges, EON had a number with £5 per fuel charge but now have returned to £30 per fuel. Thats life !!0

Morning Nellybee.
Just to confirm what others have said, exit fees only apply when changing supplier and not for moving between different E.ON tariffs. They also don't apply when changing supplier if inside the Price Protection window. This kicks in when fixed term contracts like the Collectives are coming towards the end. The window is open from the date on the renewal notice (49 calendar days before the contract ends) until 20 working days after the end. Provided we're told, as well as no exit fees, prices are protected against any changes that aren't in the customer's favour whilst a change of supplier goes through.
You're right, recent Collectives have included £30 exit fees for changing supplier before contracts end and where outside the Price Protection window. We don't have any Collectives on the go at the moment and exit fees have been removed from all the tariffs we currently have on offer.
Hope this is of interest Nellybee.
