Refused Delivery of Tumble dryer

Pappa Golf: It was a Bosch, 87560 tumble dryer, £599 + delivery so not a cheap product, they said it would around ten days! meanwhile I have to put up with no dryer.
Unholy agent: yes it was their choice of courier, but then it shouldn't have shipped with water in it. Residual is one thing, perhaps a few drops but this was pouring out, as in a tank full.0 -
Washing machines are tested before leaving the factory. Therefore there will be water inside the machine. However what would be considered a normal amount of water inside a condensing dryer I dont know. How do you know for sure that it wasn't a normal amount?0

Hi Leo: There is no way of knowing if it was or wasn't a suitable amount, so should I have just accepted it?
Would you accept an electrical appliance with water pouring out of it and most likely all over the electrics inside as well as the electrical cord?0 -
My condenser dryer has the water go into a draw you have to physically pull out, turn upside down to empty. I think I'd have been perturbed at water coming out too, but I'd have phoned the retailer there and then to complain.
I suppose it depends on if you could see from which part the water was coming out and where it ended up. It doesn't sound good I admit.
Often in these cases I find staying on the phone and politely insisting you speak to a manager at bhs is the quickest solution, whilst repeating there was water going into the electrics, don't argue or discuss, just repeat.0 -
I'm not saying that you are lying but people have different definitions of water pouring out. So I really can't say whether I would have accepted. My response was more to highlight that there will be some water, so even if you decide to buy a replacement from somewhere else expect there to be water inside. Water inside persee does not mean it is faulty, unsafe or been owned by someone else.
I'm also trying to highlight that it maybe tested by Bosch and found acceptable. I don't know myself as I don't know what they deem normal.0
