Hit by a van.

I was recently hit by a van and, when looking for solicitors in Glasgow, came across accidentcompensationscot.co.uk/road-traffic-accident-solicitors-glasgow

:(
Suffice it to say that I have no idea whether or not they will be able to help me with my claim, and I don't really know what they mean by no win no fee either.

I'd like some advice (whether they seem reputable or if someone has made a claim with them before) and whether I need solicitors, lawyers or something else.

Thanks!

It means if the claim fails and you get nothing, they get nothing too. On the other hand, if you win and get a pay out, they get paid too.

Assuming you do not work for accidentcompensationscot.co.uk I would just speak to your insurance company, they will be the best people to talk to first.

Quite possibly a percentage of the payout.

When you say you "were hit" by the van, is there a reason you aren't just going straight to their insurer? If you have the plate, but not their insurance details, then £4 to askmid.co.uk will tell you who the insurer is.

I think these no-win-no-fee things you sidn up for some sort of insurance and they pay the solicitors cost if you lose.
But i agree with Foxy, leave it in the hands of your insurance company.
Or do you mean ... 'you' were hit by a van, not your car.

Were YOU hit by a van, or was it your VEHICLE that was hit?

The website was first registered in September 2015, by Blue Margil Media Consultancy Ltd ... that name certainly doesn't sound like a firm of solicitors.

The ambulance chasers will only go no win - no fee if you are pretty much certain to win lots of lovely money for them.

If your case is marginal, or costly to fight they won't want to know.

The OP is unlikely to have personal injury compensation cover with his own insurance company.

Were he to follow this advice he would just get passed on to his insurers pet ambulance chaser type company.

Which is exactly why I suggested going straight to the van's insurer.

Unless, of course, the OP has already done so, and they're denying liability...

My post was in reply to foxy stoat's advice to the OP to go to his own insurer.

However contacting the van's insurer direct over an injury compensation claim is not a good idea - there is a clear clash of interest if you let the liable insurer deal with your claim.

The OP is best getting his own legal representation to deal with his compensation claim.
