The free cash book from https://www.vtsoftware.co.uk is excellent for basic recording of in's and out's and reconciling bank accounts, if that's all you need.0

Brightbook is a free online accounts package.
But, really, if all you're doing is recording receipts and payments then a spreadsheet would do. OpenOffice and others are free.0 -
FWIW I use Excel for a small walking group. I don't exactly 'run' reports, but I can show both the what and the why, eg our subs are recorded as 'subs' for what and 'general' as why, and then things like postage and printing get offset against 'general'. Whereas money we get when people book holidays through Ramblers are 'holiday income' for what and 'development' for why, because that money is set aside for buying new maps and training walks leaders.
I think the formulae use VLookUp. It takes me a while to get my head round it when I do the accounts but it does the job for us.
BTW I did try the VT software Pennywise suggests and I couldn't get my head round it, but I suspect that was because I was trying to produce something in a hurry ... and didn't give myself enough time to get my head round it.
At work we use Quickbooks which is easier than Sage, cheaper, but probably OTT.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Try Zipbooks. Its free to use and has a friendly interface. Thanks.0
