joint first direct application

Hello all, just a quick question incase anyone has been in a similar position. My wife applied for a first direct account yesterday and it was approved instantly along with a savings account. This was done online. We decided to apply to either make the account joint or open a new joint account with them also (I was out when she originally applied) to take advantage of the switch bonus. After my wife called to enquire about possibility of adding me to her account, or creating a new one she was helped with setting up her online and telephone banking very quickly and helpfully I might add. We decided to open a separate joint one after been told she could happily have both. We did the joint application online again but this time at the end it send they needed to carry out further checks or words to that effect, and would contact us within 48hrs. Now my query is this morning my wife has checked her mobile app and all three accounts are now on there with account numbers(sole, joint and savings) etc. I will try and call them later ( at work at the moment) but wondered if this effectively means the joint account application has been opened and accepted? Thank all.

I would say so yes. Bear in mind the switch email from First Direct is taking a while to come through. I opened my sole one last week to take advantage of the switching bonus but am still waiting for the email to start switching process although I have internet access to my current account, regular saver and everyday saver accounts. Good service so far though they seem to be swamped with applications.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Just a update, can only praise the speed that our accounts were opened. We applied late Sunday and debit cards and welcome pack arrived today (Wed) just waiting for pins.
We requested to switch our account so now we just have to wait for switch mail to arrive in the post to read before confirming we want to go ahead. Very impressed at the speed so far.'If you ain't living life on the edge you are taking up too much room'
