Panasonic DVD recorder

I have just moved house. My music/DVD player has been boxed up for months. I have attempted to set it all up in the new house. The tv is working, as is the CD player, record turntable, Cambridge Audio integrated amplifier and Sony cassette deck. However, I am having problems getting my Panasonic DVD/Video recorder (Model DMR-EZ48VEB) to work. I think I have connected the right leads (it's like Spaghetti Junction behind the cabinet!). The display lights up, says Hello, Bye, Read etc. but when I press 'Play' although the counter counts upwards (I do have a DVD disk in!) it doesn't register on the TV. I vaguely remember from when I used it months ago that I needed to press something on one of the remote controls to select the appropriate video input but I can't remember what to press.
I wonder if anyone can please offer some advice. Thank you.

(possibly) as easy as going through all the tv inputs - on the TV remote look for source or AV or TV/AV. Should be on the top line of the remote...0

I dont seem to have Source or TV/AV or AV. Its a Sony Bravia TV (oldish) . Is there a symbol instead?0

Okay. I've found that. What do I click on now, AV1 2 3 HDMI1 2 3 4 Component or PC please?0

(assuming this is a serious request!?) try one at a time; if nothing you're going to have to look at the back of the DVD recorder and check you have a cable (and type) coming OUT of a "TV OUT" connector... and check where it goes IN to the TV...Okay. I've found that. What do I click on now, AV1 2 3 HDMI1 2 3 4 Component or PC please?
EDIT: on the DVD recorder I think you need a SCART lead coming out of (AV1) TV.0 -
Hi - yes this is a serious request but I'm 73 and a bit slow. Am going to have to try all you suggest and pull out the recorder. I may be some time!! Thank you.0

Depends on which socket you've plugged the DVD recorder into.
Go round the back of the TV, maybe with a torch or bright light, and establish which one the DVD recorder is connected to. They should be marked. Then select that.0
