PCP - mileage limit

I would up and move anywhere in the world for any job myself, would you consider it if the alternative was a 7.5k balloon payment in a year or so? :P
Unfortunately not all of us are in a position to be so selfish as to just up sticks and move (proverbially) next door to where you were you work. A move closer to my work at the time would have meant all the commuting transferred to my wife.
I would have thought the O/P would have factored in the extra miles on his car when weighing up the advantage of a new job - unless of course he moved for the sheer love of it or for career prospects.
A £7.5K balloon would work out at an extra 93,000 miles over and above their agreed miles (at 8p per mile) which seems unlikely to be the case.
Also you'd be stone crazy to hand over £7,500 and the car at the end of a PCP. Far more likely you'd trade in or take out a loan and keep the car.dcouponzzzz wrote: »
I have a 75 mile round trip currently for work, stupidly when I signed off on my mortgage 4 years ago I didn't notice a 5% early payment fee all the way up until Dec 2016, at which point I'll be selling up, selling the car, renting near work and using public transport. Then looking anywhere in the world for a new job, I'm thinking Gibraltar  takes a lot of anti-brainwashing to realise you don't have to live where you grew up, and any excuses not to move are very rarely good ones!
Family, friends, and lifestyle are very good ones for me. My job roles are usually only found in cities for large corporations. Would much rather live in the country than in some apartment in a city i have no love for.
Having said that, have done ok recently. Current contract has meant that i have been working at home since last august. :beer:0 -
Why would it still be under warranty after 3 years until he sells it? Most dealer supplied warranties on new cars are only for 3 years.
My point is that he wants to trade up on the basis that the car is 'old' at 3 years-yet it will only just have come out of warranty, unless it's a Kia or Hyundai of course. I thought the era had gone when people feel they must trade in at 3 years, because after that the car will start to become unreliable. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
