Partial blame when Not
Comments
-
Hi. Just received my renewal today which has increased by 68% when compared to last year. Just called DL about this and have been advised that the increase is due to a partial blame accident in January; this was noted on the back of summary in very small writing. Accident was caused by a bird flying through my front grill so I had no way of avoiding it. They have said I am partially to blame as they couldn't recover their costs - obviously. Assuming this "accident" is held on a central database will it affect quotes with other companies and can/should I therefore dispute it. Thank you.0

You have nothing to dispute.
Your costs couldn't be recovered by DL. That's why it is referred to as a fault claim.
You should shop around to see if the price is competitive. But this claim is now on your record and should be disclosed to other insurers you approach for quotes0
