Ceiling fans when selling our house

The previous owner of our house had ceiling fan lights in nearly every room of our house which we have left in place.
Now, coming round to selling ourselves. Should we replace the ceiling fan lights with a modern light fitting?
Would you be slightly put off or think less of a house if ceiling fan lights were in living room and both bedrooms?(ie. Not modern, a bit old school) Or perhaps like the fact?!

Wouldn't bother me, it's easily changed.0

We have a ceiling fan in our bedroom - it was one of the first things we added when we moved in and its definitely worth it in summer (much much quieter than a pedestal fan) so fans in the bedrooms wouldn't put me off, even if they are a bit old-fashioned looking.
I wouldn't want one in the lounge, though it wouldn't put me off if I liked the house - they're dead easy to change/remove.
I guess it depends whether they overpower the rooms or not? Any photos?0 -
I had a ceiling fan in the lounge of my last house and two of the bedrooms here. I didn't realise they'd gone out of fashion. n the Summer they're great. Wouldn't put me off buying.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

We have fans in the bedrooms, I wish we had them in the lounge. I don't see any point in trying to guess what any buyers might prefer, just leave them.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

You bought the house with fans, so why wouldn't anybody else? I have fans (modern looking) in my bedrooms - I think they're great.0

If they are not spoiling the decoration by being obviously dated and out of place, I'd leave them be.
As a buyer, I'd rip them out within a few weeks of moving in, but then I'd probably rip out a lot of other stuff as well if 'old school' ceiling fans aren't out of place!
It's not really a case of whether they're easily changed or not, it's the overall impression they leave. People on this forum tend to be practical, but the average punter often can't see beyond first impressions.0 -
I think you'd be better off using the time to spruce up the front of the house.
Apply a lick of paint, cut the lawn, kill the weeds near front door etc. All quick jobs that can make a good impression. Kerb appeal is so so important, much more than moving ceiling fans.0 -
I think they're hideous, but I offered on a house with several; it takes five minutes to change a light fitting.0

A good principle of house selling is that you rarely get back the amount you spend on making changes.
Of course a quick lick of paint is going to make it more attractive, but I really wouldn't bother to remove ceiling fans.0
