How soon to apply for the second tesco account?

Got accepted for my first Tesco current account (for the 3% interest). Had to send off some signed form, did that and got a text message today saying my account was open. Not received the debit card in the post yet or activated it.

How quickly should I apply for the 2nd one? Technically I guess I could do it immediately but that might trigger something untoward due to the frequency of applications and searches. I will at least wait until I have the debit card and confirmed everything is working.

I applied for both of mine within 5 minutes. I would recommend you wait until you have online access (which I had already) and apply when logged in. Otherwise they'll allocate a second lot of online access data to you and you'll have to call them to merge your online access.

As said above, wait until you have online access. I applied for my 2nd the other day and got a message in the screen saying because I'm already known to them, they may not do the financial checks again, weather or not they did, I don't know, but if they didn't suppose it's better for me.

Also if you wait until you have your card and pin, it's means there is no chance of a mix up
