Newquay Holiday

Wondering if anyone can recommend things to do for my family holiday to Newquay in the summer.

We will be there four night's, we have a (will be) 3 year old and 7 month old. So looking for things we can do as a family that will keep my eldest interested.

We'll have the car so don't mind travelling to other places, but don't want to do too many miles, doing enough just to get there.

Heard that it's a gorgeous part of the country so very excited to be going :)

This is the link to the board for UK holidays, there's also days out information and discounts for certain areas.

I don't know newquay but this board might be able to help.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

If the weather is fine your 3 year old will be happy with 3 days playing on the beach ! Bucket, spade, sand and sea, you won't need anything else.
  • Hi,

I'm from Cornwall but now live in London. I am a Mummy of 2 little Boys as well. We go down a few times a year and would move back tomorrow if there were jobs down there!!

Firstly you have the beach of course, there are so many nice ones to choose from!! Otherwise, we love Dairyland, Eden Project and Crealy. Our special Summer treat when we were little was Flambards and is still supposed to be good. In Newquay you've got the aquarium and zoo, jungle jacks softplay and mini-golf. Otherwise there's Lands End, St Ives, St Michaels Mount, Lappa Valley, Springfields Pony Centre and Ships and Castles pool in Falmouth.

Hmm, maybe I could get a job down there and work for the Cornish Tourist Board!!

    Hope this helps!!

What you can do depends on the weather. Sunny and the beaches are there, but crowded. Rainy and you're struggling to find indoor places to go and the roads are choked with everybody else sitting in their cars wondering where to go :)

In town there's a swimming pool down near the Zoo. There's also some crazy golf there and a small playground - and across the road there's the boating lake, with a cafe, horse riding/stables and the funny old houses under the viaduct have been preserved and are open to the public as a museum.

There's a place just outside Newquay called Holywell Bay fun park, which has various different activities. I went as a child and loved it - just googled it and was pleased to see they still have some of the same activities that I enjoyed!

May sound silly but CHECK whether it's New Quay Cornwall or Wales! I used to work at a caravan park in the Wales one, and every year there would be one or two people who came to us but were booked into Cornwall - and so had like 6 hrs drive ahead!

On the first day pop into the tourist information. They'll have loads of leaflets on different activities and they might have vouchers attached :). Also the tourist information will probably have details of that weeks events - any parades or fireworks, that sort of thing.
The tourist board will probably have a lot of info online as well.
Have you got any tesco vouchers? You could look and see if there is anywhere nearby that you want to go to with the vouchers.
    Have fun

If the weather is nice Crantock beach is lovely and there are some caves at low tide that your little boy can explore!
