Well done Andy. As a landlord x 2 I find it infuriating when I read letting agents' terms and charges. I'm more than happy to accept those with less than perfect credit ratings because I'm in the same boat but I have always paid my mortgages, HMRC and council tax.
I failed one agency's credit check (I have no CCJs, IVAs or Bankruptcy) and offered to pay 6 month's up front but they not only rejected this offer, they took my credit search fees to add insult to injury.
When I asked if they had told my prospective new landlord of my offer, they implied they hadn't but then told me the property was no longer available! It took 4 weeks for it to come off their adverts.
So it is good to hear that you got through the system and hopefully you didn't volunteer too much information.
