PIP Rules for Following Journeys

The PIP Mobility descrptors for following journeys in unfamiliar and familiar places have been the cause of much confusion since the dawn of PIP.
A final ruling has now been made that is binding and will also release many tribunal cases that have been stayed.
The news is not good for those with Mental Health conditions as the ruling has now clarified that the 10 and 12 point descriptors do not cover such conditions as they have their own separate 4 and 10 point descriptors.
This will undoubtedly see an end to Lower Mobility DLA claims for many people with Mental Health issues as they will now score 4 points from this area and unless for physical reasons another 4 points can be colleced from Moving Around no mobility money will be awarded under PIP.
The higher scoring 10 point Mental Health descriptor is for people who are effectively housebound.
