Now that it is only three months away, I thought it would be useful to start a thread on how much people are going to be getting, especially if you have been contracted out. Those who will be amongst the first to receive it in April should have received a letter from the DWP telling them how much they are getting.
So I'll kick this off with my details.
SP Due: July 2016
NI Contributions: 42 years
Contracted out: 14 years 1999 to 2013
SP forecast: £153/week
Cheers fj

            41 yrs ni..all contracted out - £140.."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

43 years, mixed contracted out and not contracted out. Approx £160.00.
Without earnings data for the not contracted periods this tells us nothing as high earnings can give significant amounts of AP, such as myself.0

I thought they provided you 2 figures
one under the new system (nSP) and one under the old system (where 99% of your NI contribs made)
and you get the higher of the two figures?0

It used to do that until someone decided that was too complicated for people to understand!
Two calculations are still done but you just get told the higher figure.0

Thanks jem16, that info is much appreciated!
It does not affect me directly ( I'm in old system) but I do have family who are mostly going to be in new system .0

You are correct they did give me two figures, but I started this thread to only show what people are actually going to get. People receiving their SP from 6 APR 2016, and onwards will have received a letter from DWP zone (I believe they go out four months beforehand), so these people must no know what they will be getting.
Any way to answer your question my paper based forecast from January 2015, exactly one year ago did have two figures.
 New SP rules: £54/week
 Existing SP rules: £146/week
Latest online forecast using the beta system quotes at£153/week
So I'm expecting about that amount, I should know in a few weeks time when my letter arrives from DWP telling me what it will be.

Four months in advance you get the BR33 "invitation to claim" letter but this has no personal details on it and does not tell you what you might get.You are correct they did give me two figures, but I started this thread to only show what people are actually going to get. After you have claimed you get an Entitlement Notice which tells you how much you are entitled to and when you will get the first payment but this contains nothing about how the figures were arrived at. It telly you how much nSP you get (up to £155.65), how much protected payment you will get (if over the £155.65) and how much Extra State Pension you may get from deferment etc.
You never get to see the underlying sums, how much old rules v new rules etc, this is "too complicated". Having said that you didn't that much under the old system either but with more components the form was longer.0

I get my SP in December 2016 so only have the DWP estimate of 12 months ago which is £119.44 (old rules) or £43.98 (nSP)
I have 32 qualifying years, 22 of which were contracted out.
These might include small amounts of the old Graduated Pension and AP, but they no longer give you a breakdown of these amounts so I don't know if these have been lost or not.0
