What is the furthest you have travelled for a job/job interview?

not that far for me just about 10 miles or so.

Well, Messrs Alldrin, Armstrong and Collins journeyed 240,000 miles back in 1969.

About 400 miles each way for the interview. I moved before I took up the job! Suspect that won't be the farthest either for me.
  • Neighouring county - though employers are growing less keen to recruit 'non locals' in my experience. There has only been 1 employer with a mobility clause of 200 miles in the event the business moved. Nothing came of it though.

My current position of Suffolk to Essex took a lot of persuading and would not have happened if I had lived where I do now. Even though it is my highest earning now.

To be fair I didn't enjoy commuting either on less prospects when I've done it. Wages outstripped in no time.

But 'moon' did appear on Aldrin's travel expenses claim.

But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

  • Lived in North Manchester, went for an interview in South Wales and had to spend a week preparing for it. I guess it is about 200 miles between them,

    Got the job :)
