Moved into a newbuild and tried getting broadband.... seems impossible!

Builders are telling us all lines have been fitted by openreach on the site and just need us to order a phonline with a provider.

All providers are saying there is no services at our address so cannot order anything. Our address soes come up on Royal Mail website.

TalkTalk took our order fine and have cancelled it 4 times due to address not found with Openreach.

Sky say we need to speak with Openreach as they cannot even place an order.

Call Openreach and they say they only deal with the providers or builders.

How can I fix this??

Usual issue is that RM and OR databases are not in synch, no one can tell you how long that will take to happen. Correct, OR are not a retail organisation.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • You'd need to get the developers to pull their fingers out and make sure the address have been correctly entered on the Openreach system. Openreach will only deal with Communication Providers (you don't have one, you can't place an order) or the developer.

Although you have checked post code on RM site did you check the "see this address on map" on RM site?

Many times especially with new developments the cartography does not keep up to date and the actual post code geo-location may be incorrect.

For example if you check NN14 2WG on post code finder it is recorded OK, but the geo- location of the address is shown as 400m East of the actual road in middle of industrial site.

The new road is recorded correctly on Waze but not even the OS maps have the new roads recorded yet

May be this is the problem

My daughter moved into a new build a few years ago. Couldn't get a phone line installed or insure the property initially because the postcode wasn't recognised!! Fortunately we found an insurer that saw sense fairly quickly but the phone line took nearly 3 months to sort.
