My daughter is travelling to new York with school on her 16th birthday. Rather than give her lots of cash is there a card she can use that we can load with pounds so we are not stuck with dollars on a card she might not use again?

OP's daughter will be 16, and she need to be 18 to apply for a Kalixa Pay card.Kalixa do one, it works well.
FairFX offer a 'family and friends' card that your daughter could have, additional to the main card account that you would open. However, there are fees, reasonable but not perfect exchange rates, and any excess dollars are not free to retrieve as pounds.Evolution, not revolution0 -
She will also need the pin number in NY now, many shops are needing this in order to use the card which before they did not need in US.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0
