No Fault Claim : Process

Please recommend me the best process to claim a no fault insurance:

Had an accident when someone banged my car from behind yesterday. Car is damaged for both and its likely my car will be written off because its valuation is not very high. But it may not be. I do not have Courtesy Car cover, but I do need a car always as my work location needs driving.

Who should I report the incidence to? I want to keep it simple.

What should be reported?

Should I use credit hire company? Which one ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

To get a car provided now you need to either claim off the third party insurer direct and hope their insured has reported the incident already (ring the insurer and see if they have an innocent third party claims dept), or instruct an accident management company who will go down the credit hire route

If both fail then you probably will have to hire a car yourself then reclaim the cost off the third party insurer along with your other uninsured losses
  • What if the car offered by Insurer is not acceptable.

You can always go to a solicitor

They will do all of this for you

If the insurer agrees to deal with your claim but won't provide an acceptable replacement hire car then you can tell them "no thank you - I'll instruct a claim handler to deal with my claim and arrange a more suitable replacement car for me"

Most insurers dealing with an innocent third party would prefer to keep you happy and offer a satisfactory replacement hire car whilst yours is off the road/until the write off has been settled.
