Setting up childs bank account

Newborn, 2 weeks old. I want to set up a savings account for him. Is it as easy as walk in to the bank and ask?

Yes, it is easy. Take in the birth certificate plus some ID for yourself. There's some really good kids accounts out there at the moment. We've been saving a little every month for our DD since she was born, well worth it.

    And congratulations!
