hello just wondering if anyone can help we bought a samsung 48in smart tv from currys in may 2014 payed 699.00 for it but the tv stopped working last week no picture it had 12 months guarantee which has ran out we went back to currys who told us get on to samsung which we did but the say we have to pay for repairs we have found out it is the screen which has gone by a good tv engineer and currys should either replace or provide a replacement tv can you tell me what my rights are and where to go from here as we come to a blank surely with a screen it should last longer than this many thanks

Let that be a lesson to anyone reading this. Do not buy a TV from Curry's..JL and Richer Sounds give a 5 year and 6 year warranty on all TVs respectively.
Curry's have notoriously bad CS.0 -
Think as the warranty has expired, then it doesn't have to be repaired for free. The 12 month period is the time frame for this.0

It does if the fault can be proved as inherent and there st the time of purchase0 -

Samsung's manufacturers warranty is only 1 year, and beyond this (I think but please post in the consumer rights section of the forum for better feedback), all you can do is quote the Sale of Goods Act (Consumer Rights Act is only for items bought after October 2015) to Curry's and complain that the TV is not fit for purpose as it clearly should have worked for longer than it has.
