RBS Royalties

I have been a RBS bank customer for over 30 years and have held a Royalties Account for over 15 years. During the past 15 years we have been serving overseas at a BFPO address - in fact we upgraded to a royalties account whilst at a BFPO address after an interview with the bank manager who advised us to do so,
However, last week we received a letter advising us that the bank have discovered we are residing outside UK and as such cannot take advantage of the majority of benefits from a royalties account and will be placing us back onto a normal bank account.
My question is, the bank have always been fully aware that we reside at a BFPO address as we keep our address up-to-date with them. They are well aware of what a BFPO address means as they have a 'forces' section which we deal with. They advised us to upgrade to a royalties account, knowing that we couldn't take advantage of the benefits and we paid £12 per month for this account. As such, can we request that the bank refunds the monthly fee we have paid for the last 15 years?
