Flights to Australia in October 2016

Looking to fly out to Oz with my girlfriend in October for 3 weeks. When is the best time to book? Would it be better to take the chance and book last minute?

    Emirates has LHR-SYD from £776rtn.

Are you hoping for much cheaper?

There's lots of flight options, with choice of stop over possibilities and aircraft.

Would you prefer 3-4-3 or 2-4-2 seating configuration?

Where in the UK are you?

use site like google flights to monitor prices, book when you see a price you are happy with (and stop looking) book direct with the airline (avoiding dodgy third party sites)
Compare different airports as starting points - you may find good flights via Dubai, Doha etc Decide if you want to stopover and where SIN, HKG?
Prices change all the time both up and down (usually up unless the flight is selling slow then they may reduce)
  • we are looking at flying with Singapore airline we flew with them to Phuket last year from London Heathrow there customer service is excellent. Currently there prices for October work out around £1,650 for 2 adults.

SQ has from prices for £790 per person currently, which is competitive with the Emirates price of £776.

On the outbound flight, you'll be flying overnight, so consider going on a flight after work to maximise your holiday time.

Have a play around with their website to see if you can do a stopover in Singapore, whether the extra cost of premium economy is worth it on the overnight sectors and how you can get 2 seats by the window on the upper deck of their A380 aircraft in Economy.
