I have some swiss re shares, if i was to sell they would be sold in swiss francs, what is the best way to get them transferred in to my bank account without losing too much when it is exchanged in to £££

In what form do you currently hold the Swiss shares?"If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett

Good question, they are in an account that I have to log in to to be able to see them, purchased through work other than that not sure what you mean0 -
Who is that account held with?
First thing is to see who much it would cost to sell (and any other applicable charges) with whom they are currently held with."If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett

I understand I could open an account with say Hargreaves lans down and sell for £12 ish but I am not sure how the exchange bit works as I would be selling them in Swiss francs but would need to withdraw them from HL in pounds0

Check on HL website, they detail all their charges on there.
I believe it will cost you £11.95 dealing commission and levy a 1.50% fee on the swiss francs/GBP rate."If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett
