I have a problem with my new laptop and the wonderful (sic) McAfee program that has come on as standard.
I have configured the wireless network and the email accounts and although i can send emails and receive emails to most accounts every time i try to send to a btinternet account McAfee decides there is something wrong with the format of the email address and blocks it being sent.
I have disabled almost all the McAfee functions as i already use AVG for virus scanning, Defender for spam and usually Kerio for firewall but it is not compatible with Vista so using Windows firewall at present.
Should i just uninstall McAfee or is there a simple fix.
Cheers

Mcafee is likely a trial version. Most laptops that come with antivirus..etc software is trials of 90-180 days.
I'd just uninstall it, especially if you already have other software doing the majority of what mcafee does anyway.0 -
i just (last week ) bought another laptop from Dell with macafee on it.The last lappy i bought from them (3 years ago) had macfee on it and when the free trial was over they (without my say so) took money from my credit card ( it was reported on , in the Independant) Anyway when i booted up new computer for the first time i was wary of free trial, but macafee still started to install itself , and on turning the computer off for the first time macafee was saying it needed updates:mad: Second boot up and here's the crunch, you must make sure you decline their terms and conditions, which i did:beer: uninstalled it and on went AVGliving on the "edge"0

McAfee is most deffo one of the most annoying progs ever. It took me weeks to get to the bottom of what was going on with my neighbour's pc, until I got rid of McAfee for him. Then the silly old git went and got Norton instead.........you just can't help some people..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0
