Help to Buy ISA - Credit Check

Hi all


Probably a really silly question and I think I know the answer but just wanted to check. If I open a help to buy ISA will a credit check be done? I want to apply for a mortgage in the next month and don't want anything to impact my score before I apply.

Credit checks are done for credit applications. Is an ISA an application for credit?

When do you expect to complete? You will need at least £1,600 in the H2B ISA before you can apply for the bonus, i.e. you can't get the bonus before March at the earliest.

I expect to complete middle of March so should be fine.

You may want to check when your bonus will be available then.

I may be wrong, but something springs to mind when i opened mine that the cut off date was 25th of the month. So you might find if you open now, that the bonus won't be available until 25th March, which sounds like it could be a little late for you.
