Just wanted to share / have a grumble.
Yesterday I let the dogs out of their area to go and lay by the fire once it was lit which they love doing. Silly me had left treats within reach as we are having the house plastered at the moment so our entire contents of kitchen and bathroom are in the lounge. I went to do something, came back and a whole tube of Pooch & Mutt biscuits, and two half packets of the cats Dreamies were consumed. One very guilty Bassett Hound and a rather Sheepish cross breed sat looking at me tails wagging.
At 5am I wake up to Basil, the cross breed whining a little bit. It's not normally him that makes a noise in the night so I walk into the lounge and to their area and there is a rather large runny deposit on the mat
. Assuming his whining was telling me it stinks, please come clean it up. The Bassett just lay there looking at me...... cleaned it up and went to get ready for the day.
At 6am I let them out for a toilet break and the Bassett sounds like she has turned a tap on from her bottom! Assuming it was her that devoured most of the treats! Grrrrr! Not looking forward to getting home form work today
I've warned the dog walkers in advance and to NOT give her any treats today.
I know we need to put some weight onto the Bassett (yup, we have an underweight one!) but assuming her eating the equivalent of about 10 mars bars isn't the right way of doing it
Dogs. Who'd have them?! (and the cat - she ssat crying at me telling me her treats were gone!).

I remember my old Dane eating a dozen eggs plus box and a cooling down cake. It wasn't pretty..... _pale_0

Oh no! I hope he's feeling better soon. Naughty dog!0

She's a brat - always looking for food. Typical Bassett I guess
I guess at least I'm in work today so I'm not there. I felt so sorry for the other dog though with his 'phew, please help me and come and clear this up).
Hoe she settles by later on. I@d love to think it would teach her a lesson. But it won't!0 -
It could have been worse - Imagine what would have happened if the dogs had eaten the laxative chocolate :eek:Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -

Haha, she swiped my OH's muffin off the coffee table when he leaned over to get something off the floor. Paper wrapping and all gulped down!0

God, this all makes me sound awful like I have no control over the dogs at all! Bassett is just super fast and can be like lightening where anything that fits down the throat is involved!
OH just got home and has advised that the house is mess free!0 -
lol, reminds me of when my Basset was a pup, we stupidly left a box on the kitchen table with some treats in and some papers we were sorting out
We left him in the kitchen as his crate/food/water is in there and went out for an hour.
Cue pandemonium when we got back. We don't know how he managed to get the box down, but there was stuff everywhere, shredded paper, puppy puddles, but the one thing that stood out was that there was a box of cheese paws biscuits that he had ripped open and scoffed the lot.
He ended up spending the rest of the day grumbling with belly ache, and we spend an hour tidying up after him.

Gitdog snaffled a full box of Cadburys mini rolls over Christmas. It resulted on some very pretty purple sparkly poohs.
He's a huge scavenger when we're out walking, which I presume is why he generally has a cast iron stomach. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
