HI all,
Im looking to go to London for 3 nights in mid march. I want to go to Carnaby/Covent garden and the )2 Arena etc...
Where best to look for cheap hotel/accommodation? Ive tried AirBnB and that seems a lot more expensive than Travellodge etc...
Are there any recommended websites you suggest?
Thanks

Not sure if there's a better option but I've used these recently

and was particularly happy to be able to book but not pay upfront in many cases as well as being able to cancel with no penalties.0 -
Try the budget hotels such as Travelodge, Premier Inn, Holiday Inn or if you just want a bed for the night you could look at a hostel. Usually it is cheaper to book well in advance and when there is a sale for Travelodges. As with all London accommodation Saturday is usually the most expensive, so if you could avoid a Saturday night stay it will be cheaper. You will also pay more for Central London accomodation, than outer London. What dates are you looking at?0

what about YHA?
Is it just for you?
there are some in central london or Lea Valley is not too far out?
You can book a private room quite cheaply.

Southwark Travelodge has some reasonable double room prices for the weekend you want Fri 18/3 £58, Sat 19/3 £77 and 20/3 £44. It is a fairly new TL and 2 mins walk from the Southwark tube station. 15 mins walk (or 1 stop on the tube) to the Thames embankment for the London Eye, Houses Of Parlimament, Big Ben, Boats to Tower Of London. 4 min tube journey to Green park for Buckingham Palace or change there onto the piccadilly line to Covent Garden (4 mins). Direct journey from Southwark to North Greenwich for the 02.
20 min journey involving 1 change at Waterloo onto the Northern line to Camden Town for the Camden Town Sunday markets.
For travel use a contacless bankers card each and plan your travel using www.tfl.gov.uk journey planner.
