Full size dishwasher 57/58 cm width?

Thanks to everyone who helped with my previous dishwasher query! We are now DEFINITELY getting a dishwasher  !

However, I'm struggling a bit trying to find one the right size. We can fit a slimline into the space that taking a cupboard out is going to leave but a full size might be a squeeze. The big problem is that the cupboard is a right angles to a row of cupboards and drawers, all of which have handles that are 3.5 cm deep. The space for the dishwasher is 59.5cm but the handles would eat into that space by 1.5 cm, meaning that you couldn't open the dishwasher door.

I'd rather not replace the handles as they wouldn't match the rest of the kitchen but I would like a bigger dishwasher if possible. I've been searching but am struggling to find one that is 57 or 58 cm wide. Have I set myself an impossible task or are there some out there? Google is not helping much.

Can anyone help?
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."

I would just replace all the handles in the kitchen - being able to fit in a full size dishwasher would be well worth the time and cost. I wouldn't be without mine. I don't think you will get one more than a few mm less than 60cm as that this the standard size.
  • Thanks for that. I would rather have the full size but I'm also a bit concerned that even with the handles issue sorted, I can't get one to fit in the space as it isn't 600mm.

We had an issue with this as our space is just short of 60 wide.
If you go on the above link to ao.com you can search within dishwashers by width/height etc. The link is to all freestanding dishwashers between 55-60cm wide.
Then you can find a suitable one you like and make sure ao is the cheapest place if you wanted.

    Hi

Dishwashers come in standard widths of 45cm and 60cm. There is nothing in between.

Although a 60cm wide dishwasher is in fact 4 to 5 mm narrower than 60cm they are designed to go into a 60cm space.

If you are removing a 60cm cupboard to fit the dishwasher you will be fine but if fitting into a corner as the OP has identified you need to be careful of handles on adjacent units.

They do come in sizes in between, I have one in my kitchen which is less than 60cm, but more than 45cm wide.

Yes, they are all designed to go in a 60cm hole. Is there any possibility of swapping cupboards about to move the space away from the corner?

Also, don't fit a dishwasher tight into a space, things move & swell & you won't be able to get it out to service when needed.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Well according to this link, the same seller you linked to earlier, that model is a whole 3mm narrower that 60cm.

    Well done. ;)
