So we have a joint account and are finally doing the MSE thing and leaving Santander.
Looked at various options and decided to go for TSB Classic plus after reading the MSE guide. Not had an online only account before.

13/01/16 Rang local TSB and got an appointment to go in that PM. TSB agent was ready for us when we arrived, offered a drink and we spent an hour going through all the procedure and signed forms to swap the account over. Agreed swap date 21/01/16, left with lots of guides and forms.
14/01/16 Logged in online to read two messages confirming interest and overdraft on the account.
15/01/16 Text from Santander to confirm we are leaving, no offer of an incentive to stay,
18/01/16 New cards from TSB
19/01/16 Letter to say sorry you are leaving from Santander.
20/01/16 New PIN numbers from TSB
21/01/16 Switch went ahead, Santander cards now do not work, changed pin numbers on TSB cards and used them OK. Several emails from Paypal, npower and others about change of bank account details so hope all is OK.

    Hmmm.....
Sat in a nice comfy chair, nice glass of malt whisky to hand
Opened the Santander site, started the open 123 account process
A few minutes later, confirmation of account opened
    Repeated two more times
    Four weeks later receiving £150/month

    Simples

Well we don't have that kind of money. Typically we got £2 to £3 back and the fee is now £5 a month.

I kept the 123 & opened a TSB as well, online in my comfy chair. I don't drink Scotch.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Oh well, I can see why you've moved now.

    Good luck

Whereas I do thoroughly enjoy scotch, but on this occasion I was not drinking it as I opened up both the TSB account and the extra Santander basic account that will be its donor.

I don't recall how comfy the chair was... :p
