Are bank charges (payback) still likely?

Just phoned the bank asking how much bank charges I have had since I opened my account in, Jan 2010. The man said he would check to see if he can find out but came back and said it was not possible. He then asked me why I wanted to know.

I told him that, I am disabled, on a low income, and that I know people in my situation, can ask for their bank charges to be refunded. He said ok, in this situation, I may be able to find out your charges for the past 3 years. Please wait.

He then came back and said he had spoken with his supervisor. His supervisor said "Yes, he is able to ask for the charges back, but needs to phone the collection team in the morning"

Would it be very silly at this point, to get my hopes up that I will recieve a refund? Also, I am a bit confused on why he was not able to find out charges but may be able to find out past 3 years for this situation?????? Came back both times without an amount though. Thanks

Current financial hardship - mostly
unfair bank charges - no

yes. Never assume anything until its in your account.

My situation is slightly better now than it has been. Have been on sickness benefits since 2008, and was awarded DLA about 18 month ago. Struggled a lot till I was awarded DLA, and before that, recieved quite a few bank charges.
