Cash card for a couple

Hi all

Is there such a thing as a cash card that myself and my partner can have access to? We both want to pay in an equal amount monthly and use this for food, meals out etc.and both have a card?

Any advice on the best place to look would be appreciated. I've had a quick look on search engines and they all seem to be for single use or students!

My first thought is to avoid, after all how on earth, how do you keep track of expenditure, however, overcome that and each to their own

What's wrong with a credit card you pay off each month?

Or just put credit on to it before you spend.

Very few savings accounts come with a debit card. I only know of one, from State Bank of India.

Most of the savings accounts with cards I know about cant be used in shops to buy food etc, you may need to think about current accounts.

Have a look at the Pockit prepaid card, with which you can have additional cards on the same account. Cards are 99p each, paying in by bank transfer or debit card is free, but adding cash by PayPoint and withdrawing from ATMs costs 99p. No monthly fees. It depends on suitability/convenience versus the cost.

Clydesdale / Yorkshire banks do but the the OP says 'cash card' which I read to mean an ATM card and withdraw cash to pay for things...

If the OP wants a ATM card to withdraw cash then pay for items then the Halifax offers cash card with their everyday saver account.
Cant be used in shops but work in ATMs

Sorry if I've missed something, but aren't the OP's requirements exactly what is provided by a joint current account?

Thanks for the advice. We don't want a joint current account. My partner has been left with huge overdrafts from a previous relationship and will not have a joint account with me. He is happy to pay money into my account on a monthly basis but we will both need a card. He feels he will be more protected with a joint cash card than a joint current account. Not sure if that is logical but its how he feels.

Therefore, happy to have a current account in my name but need two cards so it's not always me that has to go and do the shopping. Is this even possible?
