Thank you Premium Bonds.

You have exactly the same chance as everyone else as the draw is random, provided your numbers are still valid and you can check that online at National Savings.
Well, I've got 16 chances. But you can have thousands in premium bonds, so if you've got £20,000 worth, you've got 20,000 chances.
I've always made sure to keep details up to date.0 -
We bought our first £1000 worth of bonds, a couple of months before the prizes were downgraded to a starter of £25 instead of £50, and won £100 (single win).
The most we have won in one month, between us, is three £25s and one £50.0 -
I put in £100 about 2 years ago and then withdrew £99.... So I currently have £1 worth of bonds....
Unfortunately it has, as of yet, not won a penny.
But it is all good fun

Perhaps I should have said that each single premium bond number has exactly the same chance as every other premium bond number. Of course, if someone has more premium bonds that someone else, they have more chances to win. Thanks for correcting my simplistic viewpoint. They have less chance than someone with £10,000 worth of premium bonds. Or even £17 worth.0 -

My dads the same, maybe even longer than that. Never won anything.
My FIL on the other hand won £25 the first month he bought them and another £25 a month or 2 later then another £25 approx 1 year later.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I now strongly suspect that the statement each premium bond has equal chance of winning as wrong. I have twice won in the last 3 months more than one £25 prize and the premium bonds have been in the same batch that I purchased (£500 batches) i.e. the winning numbers have been almost consecutive!! The chances of this occurring once never mind twice in such a short time "if" each number is entered independently must be far greater than actually winning the £1m prize. This is one for Martin as I am sure that it is untrue that each bond as equal chance and if so how is the draw made??? Or is Ernie broke?0
