Booking Error with Name on Flight Details

Booking Error with Name on Flight Details I booked an holiday online with Thomson via a 3rd party Holiday Hypermarket. Somehow the name on an additional passenger was listed wrong my sons middle name was listed as the surname. I contacted the Company straightaway and was told there would be a charge of £50 to change the name even though the passenger was the same person with same date of birth etc. This seems excessive and unreasonable. What are my options can I refuse to pay it or pay it then reclaim it back because it is unreasonable? I ask because I know the banks have been challenged for unreasonable charges.
Thanks

When you say 'somehow' the name was listed wrong, what do you mean? Is this your error? If so you are liable for the fee to make the change given in the terms of the contract. You should always check carefully the names of all passengers are correct and match what is in their passport.0

You a right.
The passenger has not changed, so a name change fee is not appropriate.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
£50 to change that sort of thing would be cheap. Many airlines would require that you purchase a new ticket.0

You wont be flying and you may well spend many hours in an interrogation room answering some very tough questions.
Pay now argue later.
They do not do mistakes and they do not mess about with angry people.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

What are you talking about? They're not flying out of PyongyangChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -

The Holiday Hypermarket website doesn't ask for middle names, so you must have typed the middleman as the surname.
£50 to make a name change is pretty standard for a package holiday. Had it been a system mistake there would no doubt have been some leeway, but clearly this was your own error.
Pay it, and as someone often says on another forum, 'it's the stupid tax' for not checking the details before confirming.0
