my son and my self are plumbers we are self employed and just trying to do the insurance sites not sure if we both need seperate poicies IE sole trader or if we can do a partner type which is a lott cheeper as ive been S/E 10 YEARS we will some times work to gether but will also go to different jobs i just use my surname ,,, but my son would like somthing differant any advice

Sounds like you are two sole traders so you need your own policies.0

Are you a bona fide partnership or are you in effect two separate self employed tradesmen who often work together.
It's very very important for a Plumber to get this right as their claims tend to be very big due to the heat and / or water. The Insurers in this market are very thorough when checking you're correctly insured.0
