Multiple Applications in Short Period

I've just made a bit of a stupid mistake. I applied for a Halifax Clarity credit card, and was accepted. I got as far as the final page where you have to agree to the T&Cs to finalise the process, and when I was reading it I realised that the number in my address was wrong (must have clicked the wrong entry on the 'find my address'). I couldn't find any way to go back and correct it by that stage, so cancelled out and re-applied. Of course, I was rejected that time - no surprise, since it must have looked to them like I'd just applied for 2 credit cards in the space of 10 minutes!
I know I've been a fool, but I'm more concerned now about making sure I do the sensible thing going forward. Is it worth calling Halifax or going in to branch to explain, or is that a waste of my time? If it's just a case of waiting until the impact of those 2 searches drops off, how long should I wait before applying again?

If you ring halifax and explain they should be able to sort it out. It seems like a genuine mistake. But wonder how you got accepted initially using the wrong address.
Good luck0 -

Credit searches will often pick up the correct person if the name and DOB are correct and they live within a close radius of the correct property (worked in fraud; the classic 1 or 2 doors out from the real address shown on credit file was often a giveaway).0 -
Thanks, guys. I need to go into Halifax on Saturday anyway so will see what they say then. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Let's hope they don't make you do another application, similar thing happened to me with a current account, got offered a overdraft of £250 but the application messed up so had to do it again and this time no overdraft and they wouldn't give it me back even though they had saw I was accepted for one initially, they said my credit score could of gone down from making the initial application but not sure how true this is as credit scores don't mean nothing from what I've read.0
