Barclaycard payment question..HELP RQ

Evening everyone.. I just have a quick question regarding a payment on my Barclaycard account. I've skimmed through a few different places and the answers seem to be mixed so i'm hoping someone will be able to shed some light for me.
Basically my Barclaycard payment was due on 11th January. I pay the full amount by direct debit from my Barclays account when it's due. (It's remained the same date as Barclaycard set when i first got the card.)
The payment was made on 11th, the money left my bank account and i received the standard "Thank You for your payment" text and email. I've logged into my Barclaycard account online and it's showing as the payment has been made and received. It hasn't however updated my balance yet. I tried to use the card the other day and it declined after i'd paid the bill.
I thought perhaps it takes a day or so to register that it's been paid.. But tonight it's still showing as my card is up to its limit. I'm starting to stress a little as i've got a couple of flights to pay for that i need to take on Sunday and Monday, and i'm going to need to use the card when i'm in the states on Monday.
Does anyone know what might be going on.. or how long it usually takes to adjust the credit after the payment has been made?.. It's the first time i've noticed it taking this long. I would have thought that since the payment was made from a Barclays current account it would at least be a little faster than it seems to be taking.
Cheers,

Sometimes i takes two days for payment to show on the balance but as you say today is the 4th day, so something might be wrong. But even if it doesnt show on the balance it reflects on the available credit about two hours after the payment. So maybee its time to call them.
Note that you should always pay the bill a couple days before the due date because of processing times. If you leave it for the last day barclaycard might consider it to be a late payment.
by the way, how did you make the payment? On their website with your debit card?0 -
Yeah it just seems odd to me that it hasn't changed the available credit by now. The payment date is what Barclaycard set when i first got the card last year. I didn't change it to when all of my other bills come out.
The bill is just set to pay the full balance by direct debit. They just take it on the set date, so i didn't call them to pay it or pay it online.
I've just checked again on the Barclays app on my phone and the bill payment is still listed under Pending Transactions.. Hmm.0 -

It doesn't sound like a Direct Debit, if you received a "Thank you for your payment" message. Did you pay by (Barclays) debit card through the Barclaycard website? That type of payment is not instant, but takes a few days for the money to reach your CC account.
You might want to clarify exactly how the payment was made and at what time of the 11th (maybe after business hours, that will add another day). What date did the money leave your bank account, on the 11th or later?
PS: You just answered my question:so i didn't call them to pay it or pay it online0 -
Again, if the payment was made by DD it will take a few days to show up as available credit. A manual payment by debit card will show as available within two hours but its not the case with DD. It normally takes a few days to show up. You do get the message that the payment has been made, but for a few days it is not available. If by tomorrow its not resolved (payments clear at midnight) give them a ring.0

It's probably time for you to start thinking about a second credit card just in case things like this ever happen again.0 -
this happens even with faster payments and barclaycard.
Once i made a payment on Friday and it didn't clear until Tuesday. no idea why.0 -
Try increasing your credit limit?0

Try increasing your credit limit?
You can do that via the site and when I did it, they instantly confirmed the limit I wanted. I've since read on this site that if you put in a very high limit request, then they'll offer you the highest limit they're willing to approve.
Of course, they may not agree to a limit rise.0
