Pipe Rebate Skirting

Can anyone recommend the best place to buy pipe rebate skirting from (I think it's called that?!?!) which is a type of skirting that hides the central heating copper pipes?

  • I've used https://www.skirting4u.co.uk for skirting - very good quality MDF skirting with a good spray primed finish (much better than the stuff you see in B&Q). They do cable and pipe rebates for a small extra charge.
  • What happens when someone tries to take the skirting board off the wall like I did last weekend? Luckily the pipes were under the floorboards...

    Ha!

Yes i'm just imagining what would have happened if water pipes had been hidden behind my skirting. :D My skirting removal method is enthusiastic to say the least.
  • have any of you attached the skirting onto wooden batten and then hidden the pipes behind it that way?

I've done it for cables, and I think it looks fairly good if neatly done.

Not a great lover rebated skirting for pipe work and not as easy to fit as they have you believe depends on how good the pipe work, How flat, straight the wall, floors are corners can be difficult ? Removal can be problematic, For timber heat can make it warp, buckle, creak and crack to a lessor extent plastic also ? Whichever you go for get a sample first and run it along all the pipe work and see it fits is flat etc would be my advice if you must use it? Cost varies greatly dependent on demand, quantity, style etc

It is easy enough to buy normal skirting/ timber and cut rebate in yourself with a router

Probably the easiest to put on take off plastic

Also check out this is a product we have fitted in a few installations and as of yet no complaints from clients? Its an alternative to radiator not a cheap solution though uses the skirting as the heat source basically extruded aluminum skirting but has same installation problems as above flat walls, floors etc
