Morning campers!
Up early and immediately began gardening. Did an hour and I have filled up my garden refuse bin already! I need to renew my garden collection service today. It costs £70 for the year but as I don’t have a car I don’t have a choice.
I have 2 shrubs that I want removed in the garden. I am going to attempt digging them out myself but I might need to get someone in…
A wash load done and out drying.
I seem to be resisting joining my health club.I’ve been talking about this for MONTHS on this diary and not doing it. There is sense in starting just after 1st of the month as they cannot take the direct debit and try and entice you with the rest of the month free. So next week 3rd would be best...
I had a NSD yesterday but today I will spend as I need fruit and eggs
I am going to start doing 30 minutes of clearing weeds at the front of the house or I soon won’t be able to get to my front door
I am off to steam clean my kitchen floor
Thinking of going to IK3A later for cheap green houseplants, napkins and a reading lamp. I will have a coffee there as a treat. I need to do something other than stay in cleaning and organising whenever I have free time.

I think you should go for Italy.
It is only another two months after all.
Life is too short.

Morning campers
Yesterday
I went to IK3A. No joy on cheap green plants as they all looked limp and unhealthy! Got napkins. My beloved tea towels have gone up from 35p each to 50p. Got new reading lamp for £9 although the lightbulb was £5! £4 spent on food there.
I managed to spend £20 in supermarket on the way back from IK3A. Yes, I have fruits and veggies but I also bought crisps and chocolate for 25% of my shop. I now have £30 of my monthly food shopping left. Madness.
Money
I am going for a £1,000 emergency fund. So far, after a bit of shuffling, I have £250.
The emergency savings has prompted me to think how best to manage my money. I will be debt free in 7 months and I would like:
—A separate account for my emergency savings
—A non priority spending account that only has a few hundred pounds with a debit card so I can online shop and withdraw spending money
Parsniphead has prompted me to put in a PPI enquiry to all my previous banks where I have held a mortgage account. I had not thought of it in relation to my mortgage
I am going to open this account next Monday (diarised)
i am going to begin the PPI process next Monday (diarised)
House and garden
45 minutes of gardening for me this morning as soon as I woke up. Funny how these small bursts of gardening are adding up
Kitchen floor still needs cleaning. It will be done…Today. During my lunch break
Decluttering
A Roberts radio that costs me a fortune but slowly fell apart. I wrote to the manufacturer and got rubbish customer service. This company is not what it was! So, sending to charity shop (it still works with batteries to some degree) a cleverer person than me might fix it. Anyway it taunts me so I am letting it go.

Yes Parsniphead, but what you don't realise and I am now confessing is that it comes from months of being too cowardly to invite the handyman back in to do much needed jobs in the house. So, I put the 3 months of the house account into my emergency savings
It doesn't matter how long it takes to get £1,000 together, What matters is that you work towards it. Maybe the PPI will surprise you?If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Hi DIA
Are you totally sure about Portugal? If you really aren't going, may I suggest you try and find ways of making this Christmas better than usual - it seems a shame for you to be stuck with another year, but there must be things you can do that would improve it on before.

Thanks Rosa
Today was a good day. I WFH but still managed to get fair bit of sorting out done too. I ironed, cleaned the loo, did 30 minutes gardening and washed up a few times. The house is less of a mess than usual...
When I went to IK3A I found a little cabinet for £25 and a mirror with a small shelf for £10.I will buy the cabinet X2 and the mirror next month. One for the loo for the bleach and cleaning stuff currently on the floor. The other can go in the bathroom. It is only small but it will help me keep bathroom toiletries to a minimum
I decluttered a big basket that I have been keeping for a decade to keep the wood I don't have, for the wood burning stove that I also do not have  Madness...
I walked for a few miles. Got some YS fruits and veggies (now only £20 of my food budget left and it isn't even July yet) More madness...
I ate healthily today and I have made my packed breakfast and lunch for tomorrow
I paid £82 extra off my debt just to round the figure down to £,8,800.
I had a positive day and I hope you did tooIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
