Extractor Fans - recommendations?

Hi All

Looking for recommendations for a make of extractor fan for my bathroom. Just need one with a timer, that is silent (26db or less).

I know Vent-Axia are a good brand...any others I should look at? HiB make some nice looking fans but have never heard of them.

Thanks!

    I went with a Vent-Axia AC100T (in-line fan).

Excellent unit, not too noisy; recommended!

Try Xpelair CF20 basic or CF20T with timer, two speed and trickle vent and humidistat. Two speed and a reported 26 db - presumably at lowest speed. I have had one for 14 years and still going strong.
  • I had a bit of luck in buying a fan of far better build quality than the known brands. The trick is to search at ebay or Amazon using the following search term "extractor hydroponics".

You can find the one I selected at Amazon by searching on "extractor hydroponics stube". It's blue in colour and available in different diameters.
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

I'd say look for a centrifugal fan, rather than an axial fan - centrifugal fans develop more pressure, so less affected by dampers, duct runs etc.
