Minor problem with live sports feeds is buffering and it can get quite annoying. It depends on what you watch. If you watch Premier League football you are best not paying for Sky and going down to your local pub having no more than one drink and watching the game. £3 a week is a bit cheaper than paying £25.50 a month extra to Sky. You could even have 2 drinks each week and it would be about the same.
If, however, you would like to watch live Premier League at 3PM on a Saturday afternoon which is not shown on UK TV then you an do that through an app called Kodi which you can load on to the Fire Stick.
I can view most sports feeds. They aren't always in HD most aren't even in SD quality and can be very grainy but you can watch almost anything.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

What you might be better of doing is doing an audit of what you really watch and how often then seek some advice on what options will achieve that and what the trade off on costs are.
There are other areas on here that deal with this sort of thing.
(seems streaming some stuff may not break any laws there was a post somewhere, I did not followup)
I found that the NowTV box did a nice job of fullfilling our needs to make the TV a smart one, access to the streamers for the main channels for catchup and optional subscriptions to Sky feeds of entertainment, movies and sport when needed.
Its so cheap(first one was free tesco misprice) they pay for themselves very quickly.
With your phone use it may be for your internet access depending what you a small tablet and a smaller phone would be better(tether the tablet to the phone), depends what you do on the internet when mobile and there is no wi-fi0 -

For the last few comments in general.
We are massive sports fans - Footy (Premier League, Spain, Germany, etc), Rugby League (Super League), Cricket, Boxing, UFC...well, everything!!!
Problem with the streaming is that you can't catch replays.0
