hi i could do with some advice i have just made a fresh claim for child and working tax as i have started work have been on IS for over 13 years due to having stayed at home with kids i was wondering how long it actually takes for a claim to be processed and actually paid in my bank as i've been told 2 different times from 2 different lone parent avisors one sayin 2 wks and the other 6 wks  .
Another thing i'm wondering is will i still be owed money from IS as i signed off friday just gone and my pay days are mondays and this one being bank holiday my money went in the bank on friday and 1 advisor told me i would probably be asked to pay that back and the other said i would recieve another payment this monday coming.

I just really want to know how long i'm supposed to be making my money last me and with how much as my children still need feeding and bills still need to be paid.
I know i'll get the hang of it after a while but its scary isn't it starting work lol :rotfl:

Congratulations on the job, I know how hard it is to get back into work. I hope you enjoy it!0 -

Well good news is that my tax award arrived this morning through post and its all correct and in bank and monday just gone there was a IS payment in my bank as i thought would be due to signing off and what they owed me up to starting work.
But just when i thought it was going all to well i have just been told on phone from IS processing centre that i have not signed off ( i can assure you that my lone parent advisor sat with me at job centre and i signed numerous forms in front of her to sign off and my tax credits are fine which she also helped complete)
So was rudely told that the payment i recieved 3/9 should not have been and that its up to another department now as to what they will do next ie: have to pay it back etc and that she has no idea when my rent pay on will start but i'm presuming if i hadn't signed off with jobcentre as i thought on 24/8 will she take it as of phone call that i have signed off today and therefore my rent run on will start from today.
Do you think is hould make phone calls myself to try and sort this out and if so where do i start first0
