Infants charged same as Adults!?

Hello Friends
I am trying to book a flight from Manchester Airport to Linz in Austria for my wife and our little baby girl (3 months old).
I am searching through Opodo and found a price of £107 round trip, but it says our baby must also pay that price!
Is that really how it is!! I thought infants would be a lot cheaper than adults!

Ignore everything Opodo tell you. Google Opodo complaints and just avoid them.
Look at real prices direct with airline websites.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Ignore just Opodo? Or all flight comparison websites?
You check 100s of airlines manually? or you stick with a few good ones only? Any recommendations?Only Student Loans to get rid off (Plan 1)0 -
If the infant is travelling on your lap most airlines charge a minimal fee e.g. 10% of fare
just type 'opodo reviews' into google and give a big sigh of relief you did not book with them then head to the airline's website and book thereI am searching through Opodo and found a price of £107 round trip, but it says our baby must also pay that price!
It doesn't actually
Looking at the Opodo site you need to open the Price Breakdown
random search in March for Manchester-Linz shows a headline of £98.53 per passenger but when you open the "Price Breakdown" you will see
Adult £196.55
Infant £0.50
Total £197.05 (which they then divide by 2 to give a per passenger)
If you were to book 1 adult alone it would cost £196.55....the infant charge is only 50p0 -
If you want a seat for the child then you will pay full price but if the child sits on your lap then most airlines will accommodate that for a nominal sum to cover attendant service.0

Simply use Opodo and other websites to find a reasonable price. Note which airline it is for then go to the airline's website and do a search on there to see how the price compares.0 -
Thanks guys, I'll follow your suggestions.Only Student Loans to get rid off (Plan 1)0

Opodo 'forgot' to tell the airline we were flying with that we'd paid extra for our luggage to go in the hold.. it led to a big argument in the airport and I won't ever be using them for booking a flight.0

Use sky scanner and kayak to find the flights you want then go to the airline website and book direct.
If you book a Lufthansa flight through Opodo, you are agreeing to Lufthansa's terms and conditions and Opodo's terms and conditions.
There's no point booking through Opodo and making things more complex.
Could you fly to Salzburg and then get a train?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Once upon a time Opodo were a reasonable OTA. Not good, but passable. Since the dreaded eDreams got their hands on them that is a thing of the past. They joined the race to the bottom.
Opodo and lot's of OTAs will have a fare advertised that doesn't exist. You won't find out until they contact you to tell you that it has gone up. Even when you have got a confirmation, and they've got your money, it isn't unheard of them to cancel it without ticketing it.
Search for flights on Skyscanner, Kayak, Matrix, Google Flights, but book direct with the airline.
Adding another layer between you and your bookings can cause untold problems, especially if there are schedule changes.0
