Pay Nationwide credit card bill via "quick transfer"?

Hello. I recently signed up for a Nationwide Select Credit Card and now I need to pay my first bill. I already have Nationwide current accounts and internet banking.
The back of my statement says that if I want to pay my bill from my current account, I have to set up a "bill payment facility" with a given sort code and current account number.
However, I notice on the internet bank that it appears possible to do a "quick transfer" from my current account to the credit card. This would seem a simpler way to pay the bill but I'm wary to try it in case it's not correct and messes something up. Is anyone able to confirm whether this will work (or not)?
If not, then how do I set up a "bill payment facility"? Is this the same as a faster payments transfer?
Thanks.

It's fine to do a faster payment transfer. I don't use my Nationwide CC very often so find it the easiest way to pay it off when I do use it.

You can use the "Quick Payment" option according to http://www.nationwide.co.uk/support/payments-and-transfers/cash-cards-and-cheques/credit-cards0

I can't confirm it will work, having never used it to pay my Nationwide Select card, but I'd certainly be prepared to try it...maybe with just £1 (if it will take it...some banks won't let you pay anything less than the minimum payment this way). Be aware it may not register straight away at the credit card end, so don't panic!0

I have a Nationwide credit card and Flex account. I always pay mine by using the quick transfer option on the left of the page. It doesn't appear straight away, but it's normally there the next day.0

Although I have both Nationwide current and credit accounts I always pay by DD so I've never needed to do a transfer. However, I don't believe the "quick transfer" will use the Faster Payments System, as it's not an option for transfers between accounts within a single Financial Institution. I would instead expect it to be an internal transfer that appears instantly in the collection account for Nationwide credit, but then takes additional time to be processed in the credit card system so that it is directed to the appropriate card.0

Thanks for the replies. I've gone ahead and used the quick transfer method. The balance hasn't immediately updated, as people mentioned, so I'll wait a day and see what happens.0

I use Quick Transfer to pay mine all the time and it works fine.0

Another poster here that can confirm that it works, I have had my Nationwide CC for over 2 yrs and have always paid via transfer from my nationwide current account. I also do the same for a natwest and TSB CC from their attached Current accounts and it works a charm. Balance usually updates overnight but depending when transfer takes place it can be a couple of days.'If you ain't living life on the edge you are taking up too much room'

I too use the Quick Transfer to pay the balance of my Nationwide card (the minimum payment is taken from my FlexAccount by Direct Debit). If done during the daytime, the available balance should update straight away and the balance overnight.0
