As would be the case if you were working and you weren't.
We want equality with men but this process needs to be fair with adequate notifications.
More than 20 years seems adequate to me.
This misogyny is alive & well-look at some of the posts on this thread about women being 'lazy & greedy'. Welcome to the sad world of the internet troll.
I'm a feminist - your attitudes shame all women.
I hate ignorance and prejudice - particularly when it pretends to represent me.0 -
Of course, I am not suggesting everyone is paid but have seen some very offensive posts on MSE in threads re: Pension debate (e.g. 'grasping baby boomers'; 'lazy & greedy women' etc), as will you have too & they correspond with similar destructive posts elsewhere on the Internet re: women's pension campaign. It's well known that some trolls/shills are paid to cause divisions & psychologically manipulate during political discussions. Misogyny is alive & kicking online. There are others who feel they can say hateful things because : "Give a man (or women") a mask and you see who they truly are". I can see why anonymity is important, discussing financial matters, but not if it's a shield for those who are being abusive to others, whilst supposedly 'debating' other issues, as has been the case here.0

Please can you elaborate on what you mean by saying "]Parliament suggested this site in relation to the forthcoming debate 1st Feb" and whether/why you have an issue with not knowing.
You say you were "only notified today through a friend via another MP". This sounds as is you believe you should have a veto on which sites should be allowed to feature the debate. And as if you are an MP.
What are we to make of you saying "I only got notified today through a friend via another MP." - - - are you an MP yourself and not totally sure you want to cone out as an MP?0 -
Scotswimmen wrote: »Oh not the old Young versus Old divide. I don't agree with their pension increase either-that is mentioned in my post.
Nothin at all to do with young vs old.
You claimed that it disproportionally affected a group of older woman.
Perhaps you could tell us what it is you're looking to happen from the debate? The WASPI ask is that all 1950s women be put back in the same financial position as if born before 1950 - in other words that you should have your state pension at age 60 or be compensated for not having it.
Do you agree with this aim? If you do how do you think it would be achieved? If you don't what is it you're looking to happen instead?0 -

Although I was born in early 1960, I was in the same class as some '50's girls, and our experiences were nothing like those you describe.
The 11 plus was done away with the year I was due to take it, so all of my year of 11 year olds went to a comprehensive school. However, prior to that, there was an excellent grammar school for girls in the area, and girls who went to the grammar school were encouraged to be academic and prepare for a career. I don't know what the pass rates were for the 11 plus, but, considering girls outstrip boys these days accademically, I doubt if it'd have been too difficult for bright girls to achieve the right results.
I went to a mixed comprehensive - and was never treated differently to any boy. All pupils regardless of the sex were encouraged to achieve - accademically and artistically. It was never assumed that girls would do a job for a couple of years and get married and leave work and girls did subjects like metal work and technical drawing if they wished.
I was very fortunate that I started work in 1976, and always was paid the same as a man in my pay grade when we did the same job.
When I married, I was never financially owned by my husband - we've taken equal reponsibility for finances, and I do the bulk of the financial admin
If I'd divorced, it would never have crossed my mind to take part of my husbands pension pot - why would I, when I had my own occupational pension.
This stereotyping of women is very disappointing in this day and age, but it seems to suit WASPI to promote this negative and dated image
Now, I have a mortgage that's nearly paid off, still paying the personal pension and into a small DC scheme. You do it by doing without and making sacrifices. The majority of Waspis will certainly have had more than me in their lives. I'm sorry but it's just not good enough to use the poor little me excuse, take nil responsibility and then shove the bill on the taxpayer.0 -

Which posts do you find offensive? Hopefully not just the ones that disagree with WASPI's way of thinking?0 -

Which posts were offensive / very offensive? Links please.
Who are the people/(trolls, as you call them - how do you define 'trolls' ) who got/get paid? Proof please.
Which are the "similarly destructive posts" that you have seen elsewhere? What are "similarly destructive posts"? Links please.0 -

MissBiggles-I did NOT say 'I am a Feminist-your attitude shames all women'. I've taken a photograph of this (thanks for the evidence) & reporting this to Money Saving Expert site-this distortion of the truth is exactly what I am talking about!! I had sent my MP a copy of my post so I will notify him that the site the Parliament suggested we use has been hijacked & views misrepresented. I will not be debating this any further here.0 -

You'll find that the words in bold are missbiggles's words, not yours. She is saying that she is a feminist.
I can see where you're getting mixed up though but sometimes those who are not able to multi quote put their own words in bold or colour into your quote. It can be a bit confusing for those not used to it.I've taken a photograph of this (thanks for the evidence) & reporting this to Money Saving Expert site-this distortion of the truth is exactly what I am talking about!!
Calm down and take another look.I had sent my MP a copy of my post so I will notify him that the site the Parliament suggested we use has been hijacked & views misrepresented.
Just to clarify again. Parliament has not suggested that you use this site. Nothing has been hijacked and your views have not been represented.I will not be debating this any further here.
That's a shame. We would really have liked to hear your views and have a proper debate.0 -

Of course you didn't - I did!
I was answering the points within your post, indicated by bolding - not an uncommon technique on forums.0
