hi, newbie with a lot of questions

hi people, ive got alot of questions i need answering.......

im in a bit of debt but im hopeless at paying things off or SAVING, i want to save for a house and get my girlfriend an engagement ring but im im no position to do either.

i earn a decent wage and dont pay out a huge amount yet i still manage to be left with nothing or minus at the end of the month... PLEASE HELP:o

i want to enjoy my life without worrying about money, i know if i started to save id be really good at it, i just need help in doing it.

    Look at all the threads, read and absorb. Start as you mean to go on.

    Do your SOA (statement of Affairs) and lets all have a look at what problems, if any, you have.

    Car loan - £6000
    Overdraft - £650
    College - £460
    Catalogue - £180 :eek: :eek: :eek:

    target debt free date 29/08/09 + save for my wedding!! :T

    If there is too much month left at the end of the money and you dont have huge outgoings then a spending diary is a must.

    If you're anything like me you'll be that shocked at what you fritter your cash on you'll be a tight wad over night ;)

    Seriously though it will <should> sort the needless spending out.

    Your gal will have a ring on her finger and a loverly new pad in no time with the great advice from the folks on here and a bit of hard work from you :D

  • Welcome! Agree with other posters - spending diary and SOA; even if you don't post them up, you'll often see things that you could cut at a stroke.

    gives you an idea of an SOA, just go through your finances fill in the relevant balances interest rates etc.
