Has anyone moved from ebico and wished they never moved, I am at that stage where I am not sure what to do, I am a low user on prepayment meter used to track my usage but got bored of it lol finding I am not spending a lot so what but hate going to the shops to top up, thinking of joining ovo but concerned it will be a lot more as they charge standing charges.
When do you decide ebico is actual more expensive even with no standing changes

Depends upon your usage .
Ebico basically incorporate the sc in the unit cost .0 -
Assuming you are talking of Elec, the SC I pay to EDF is 18.9p a day, inc VAT. That's nigh £70 a year.
For Gas it's 26.25p a day inc.VAT, that's £96 a year
Either or both of these would buy quite a lot of Ebico Kwh - Work it out
For my area (Eastern) Ebico Gas Kwh are 5.2p inc VAT - (£96 a year buys 1846 Kwh)
.. .. .. .. .. Elec Kwh are 16.43p inc VAT - (£70 a year buys 426 Kwh )0 -
Like someone mentioned there no standing charge but higher gas and electric with the standing charge in that price so your still technically paying a standing charge0

Ebico will cost you more unless you are a very low user. Do a comparison, this will provide you with a guide to a better deal.0

Ebico's tariffs may change as result of this OFGEM guidance. It would seem that Ebico is a SSE 'white-label' supplier.

What do you class as a low user?0 -
Exactly, it's meaningless. Input your annual usage and any comp site will tell you the answer in seconds. Then try the same with higher and lower usage. You will very quickly find the level at which Ebico becomes uneconomic. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Your Mileage may vary:
I'm with E-ON and a low power user. Yearly combined gas + Electric comes to around £500, I worked out i'd save around £100 a year if I switched to Ebico
in only the past 3 months I've used £45 worth of Gas (£26 in actual gas + £19 standing charge) Under Ebico I'd only have paid £34. Total saving £11
Not worked out the Electric savings yet but it would be around the £14-£15 savings per quarter.
Only reason I've not switched to Ebico is i'm paying back outstanding debt due to money issues last year but will be able to switch in a few weeks.Laters

I have been in my flat for just over a year now took a electric meter reading on 18th Feb 2015 00699 and took one yesterday which was 1925.98 so used 1.226kwh of electric for just under a year which is not bad.
Gas was on 18th Feb 2015 01526 and yesterday was 01687 so used 1.801kwh for just under a year.
So ebico is still the cheapest for me but have seen if I had a credit meter for the electric only I could save more money lol.0
